I have an internet modem from optimum online but now how do i set up wifi?

basically i have internet on one computer through the optimum online modem but i still need internet on a laptop and an ipod touch. I know i need to set up a wifi network but how? i read many articles yet they are way too complicated. Someone dumb it down for me?
